Bare Beauty is based in West Reading and operated by Jessica David (that's me!). I have over 18 years experience in the beauty industry and I have as much, if not more, passion for it now as I did way back when I started.
I offer a range of services including microblading, combo brows, ombre brows and lip blushing.
For some background, I spent many years working for MAC Cosmetics, where I honed my skills on a wide variety of clients—different face shapes, eye shapes, skin tones, and skin types. This gave me deep experience in colour theory, undertones, and an eye for what’s aesthetically right. I later trained with Blades Academy, one of the UK’s most respected academies, in advanced microblading, machine brows, and lip blushing.
Giving people confidence and helping them feel their absolute best is a privilege I never take for granted. I’m endlessly grateful to all my clients—past, present, and future—for trusting me and allowing me to keep working in a career I love.

Really pleased with my brows! Jess is so talented, really understands what suits your face shape, and works with you to ensure you get the best results. Not only is she incredibly professional, Jess is so personable, she makes you feel at ease within minutes of meeting her. As well as brows, I will be going to see Jess for some permanent make up! Can’t wait! Would highly recommend Bare Beauty.
Jess is amazing. She really knows what she's doing and she was extremely conscientious in the way she did my treatment. She took her time mapping out and listening to exactly what I wanted. I also know her colour theory and eye for detail is on point because of her makeup artistry skills, so I felt fully confident in her hands. I adore my brows and I've had so many compliments on them. If you're on the fence, don't be, she is wonderful and she'll do exactly what you ask for with precision and great chat.
I am very happy with my brows. Jess is very professional and friendly, the whole process was explained in detail and was excellent. Jess is amazing and I would highly recommend her. My brows were a mess and now they look perfect! Thank you again.
The guideline for having semi-permanent makeup refreshed is every 12-18 months. However, depending on how well your skin holds the pigment, you could go 2 years without needing a top up!
Get in touch now to organize a refresh, and if on the (free) consultation, I don't feel like you need it, I will let you know!
The more natural hair you have, the more natural your results will look, and having even a little brow hair to give texture over your SPMU goes a long way!
So no, you do not need to shave your brows before you have your treatment.
Yes. When you have any semi permanent makeup done it will look very bold to begin with and then will fade during the healing process. For the lips you can expect fading up to 50% and for the brows it's up to 30-40%. If you fancy a bolder brow/brighter lip when you're done up, you can pencil/gloss a little over the top once your brows/lips have healed.
If you are unfortunate enough to have SPMU that you hate, or maybe you have old work that is no longer on trend, then there are options for removal!
Saline solution: This method uses a saline solution injected into the tattooed area to draw out pigment. The ink is lifted to the skin's surface, forming a scab that falls off, taking the pigment with it.
Laser Removal: Laser removal for SPMU uses targeted light to break down pigment particles in the skin, which are then absorbed and eliminated by the body. Multiple sessions are needed, depending on the pigment's color and depth.
In a nutshell, it's very unlikely that you will hate your new semi permanent makeup (especially if you have it done with me). BUT, if you do, it isn't permanent and there are options for removal!
During a semi-permanent makeup brow procedure, you have a lot of input into how your brows will look!
First, you and I will have a chat about how you'd like your brows to look (more natural, bold, or something in between), I will suggest a brow shape that fits your facial features perfectly, and we can discuss which colour you'd like.
Essentially - yes! You can have free reign over how your perfect new brows will look.
Semi-permanent makeup, like eyebrow tattoos or lip blushing, can involve some discomfort. BUT it should always be minimal. This is why | NEVER book my clients back to back, and always make sure | allow enough time to keep you as numb as possible, even if you need a bit more than average.
Many of my clients describe the sensation as a series of gentle pricks or a scratching feeling. After the procedure, you might experience some tenderness, swelling, or redness, but these symptoms typically ease within a few days. Everyone's pain threshold is different, but the discomfort is usually brief and well-tolerated.
To sum it up... don't let your fear of it being painful stop you from going for it! I will look after you, | promise!
